The Specialisterne Assessment Program offers autistic individuals an opportunity to harness and develop skills that can be applied in a professional working environment. Specialisterne works with the candidates to identify their unique strengths, personal and professional competencies, interests and the special needs or accommodations that their diversity presents.
The Specialisterne Assessment Program is based on the experiences of the Specialisterne operations around the globe. Programs are tailored to meet the needs of the individual candidates, employers, secondary and post-secondary educational institutions and community agencies across the United States.
The Specialisterne Assessment Program will assist in clarifying the candidates’ possibilities for entering the job market by working on the candidates’ personal, professional and specialist competences in accordance with the Specialisterne Competence Development Model.
In collaboration with our corporate and community agency partners, Specialisterne provides a 4-6 week Assessment Program for autistic people focused on tasks in the corporate world.
LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 Core Sets are used during the assessment to allow candidates the opportunity to construct and program innovative solutions to real world problems. With the Scrum process a framework is provided to work as a team member and to manage collective innovative solutions. While candidates are working individually and as a team, we observe and assess candidates in accordance with the Specialisterne Competence Model on different skills, workability and motivation.
As candidates are constructing and programming, they are also preparing to present their innovative solutions to the corporate partner. In managing and preparing the presentation, candidates are introduced to Microsoft Power Point and Excel and are provided access to specific learnings on business topics through Specialisterne Safari Books Online tutorials. The candidates have the opportunity to learn and apply skills such as construction of the robots, basic programming, software testing and product development in a team environment. All are at an introductory level and useful in many jobs.
The Specialisterne Assessment Program is designed to highlight the candidates’ skills and abilities and to provide them with opportunities throughout the program that will improve certain social skills needed to work in a corporate environment. We identify and document the talents and competencies of the candidates to see if there is a match between their skills and the specific job requirements set out by the corporate partner. Participation in the program does not guarantee subsequent employment.
Specialisterne Assessment Programs are completely voluntary and travel and accommodation expenses are not reimbursed.

Candidates who successfully complete the program receive a Business Profile and Certificate of Completion from Specialisterne.
Suitable candidates have the opportunity to be placed in direct employment, if there is an appropriate match between the candidate and the available employment position with the corporate partner. Candidates who are not a suitable fit for the current employment positions on offer will receive support from the community agency partner to seek out alternative employment opportunities outside of the corporate partner.
Specialisterne USA currently has activity in Pennsylvania, California, Delaware, Seattle, New Jersey and New York.
We expect to launch recruitment activities in Washington DC, Tennessee, Ohio, Utah, Michigan, Massachusetts and Atlanta.

Specialisterne’s Pre-Employment Program, formerly known as The Innovators program is a workforce preparation program for autistic individuals. Specialisterne’s Pre-Employment Program encourages innovation, leadership skills and an entrepreneurial mind set.
Specialisterne’s Pre-Employment Program provides candidates with an opportunity to prepare for the transition into college and or the labor market.
Specialisterne’s Pre-Employment Program offers an opportunity for the candidates to explore the fields of technology and other skills by using LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 Core Sets as a tool for assessing competencies relevant for the employment market with particular focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) jobs. Specialisterne has also validated that this unique program is also suitable for assessing individuals pursuing a wide range of employment roles across an enterprise.
Specialisterne facilitators work together with candidates to uncover and document special skill-sets, strengthen personal and professional competencies, confirm career and subject matter interests and to introduce elements from the corporate sector through challenges and tasks.
